Our dad just left for Kuwait yesterday. We are going to miss him so much! He is the best dad ever! It's going to be hard without him. We love him so much. He is going to be in and out of Iraq several times; the rest he'll spend in Kuwait. We are all really proud of him! We know God will protect him. We can't till he's home again.

Last weekend we went to The Atlanta Aquarium. It is the largest aquarium in the world, and has the only live whale sharks in captivity. Here is my dad in the walk through uderwater tunnel. Here they had they whale sharks and many other fish and manta rays.

Throughout the aquarium they had differents places where you can touch the animals. It was fun to try and make jack touch them. He stuck his fingers in the water a couple times, but wasn't able to reach any.

Here is my mom looking at one of their many exhibits. They had several large tanks like this one.

These crabs are so weird. I've never seen or heard of them. They are huge! The sign said that they can grow as big as a car in 100 hundred years! It's amazing. They are called Japenese spider crabs.

They had a lot of seals, sea lions, and penguins in one area of the aquarium.

I took this pic of a whale sharks above my head. They are a lot bigger then this picture makes them look.

Here is a paper I wrote in Jr. High. I just found it and thought it was really cute.

The Greatest Christmas Gift
( in the eyes of girl staying at the Inn)

It was the days of the counting for the census, and I arrived at an inn after a long journey. The Inn was very crowded and I wondered how many more people it could hold. The Innkeeper told me I could have the last room available. As I settled in I overheard the Innkeeper talking to a young couple. " My wife is carring a child and we would like a place to stay for the night,"said the young man. "Sorry , no rooms are available," replied the Innkeeper. I looked over and noticed a tired and sad expression on the wife's face. I felt badly for them, but out of my selfish behavior , I did not offer my room. If only I had known who the young woman was carring, I might have given my room up. Then, faintly, I heard the keeper offering them a stable for the night.

As I was unpacking my belongings, I heard a baby cry. "Could she have given birth?" I wondered. I threw on another layer of clothing and went out into the cold night. There in the manger I saw a baby, wrapped in cloth, with Mary cooing softly to it. Suddenly, I looked into the sky, above where there was a bight star. I leaned over to a sheperd watching the scene and asked him who this child was. "This ," he said, "is the Son of God." He told me of the angels and the wise men who had come from afar.

"Is this the Messiah, God had promised would come?" I thought. I had nothing to give Him! My few possessions would not be much to this Child. All I could do was fall on my knees and worship Him, the greatest gift I had ever received.

This last week has been a really busy one. We had a lot going on between "The Journey" and christmas parties all weekend.

On Friday we had a Christmas party with some of our friends from church. We had a great time hanging out, eating food, and playing games. In the picture above we are all opening gifts.

To the right we were throwing confetti. Every picture we took Shy's face was behind a blob of it.

One of the most fun things we did was the "pass the orange game" . Using only your neck you had to pass the orange around the circle. We got some pretty funny looking pictures. (some we didn't post) lol

We had a ton of fun!

If you can tell in the pic below the star on our tree is actually a star fish.
This year we decided to get a smaller tree then usual. It's about 3 feet tall. It's really cute, and decorated with seashells and such.

Saturday evening we went to the Seafood Festival and got crawfish! Gabby wouldn't try them but Jess, Maddie, Dad and I ate two heaping plates altogether. They're actually really good. They taste a lot like shrimp, except fishey-er. (sp)
First you pull the tail off the body. Then, you bend the tail in half and peel back the shell. After that you pull out the meat and eat it!! *yum*
Hahah they come with pinchers too!!!
They are really ugly and gross when you first look at them. If you can get past that the meat is really good!!!

WE all went to church downtown today. They hold it in the oldest running theatre in America. Afterwards we ate with the Montgomereys. Then we went to the beach!!

Birthday Party ~ Jess and Liz

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted , but here are some pics for all of you who were at our birthday party. We had alot of fun going to the skinny Improv. Becasue it was Liz and my birthday they called us on stage. It was hilarious!!! This is everyone at our party except for Alexia who had to come late ....

This was on our actual Birthday. Emily and Alissa surprised us by taking us to the Switchfoot concert. They are so awsome! We had no idea. This is before we left and we didn't even know until we got to the concert. Ofcourse I did suspect something when we didn't go in the direction of small group ,which was our original plans.
